We can procure Himalayan Organic Turmeric rhizomes only in small quantity from the high altitude villages of Uttarakhand. The farmers have very small land plots under age old terrace farming system, and therefore they can grow their produces in very small quantities. The farmers of the mountains do not use any chemical fertilizers and pesticides in their crops. They use only compost made with cow dung, pine and oak leaves. Hence, at Rasparna Green you have 100% organic Himalayan turmeric powder.
How Himalayan Organic Turmeric (Pahadi Haldi) is different from the simple kitchen turmeric:
- Himalayan Organic Turmeric is grown traditionally.
- In its continuity, the tubers used as seeds are centuries old.
- The crop may remain in soil for 2-3 years.
- The cultivation process is 100% chemical free as no fertilizer and pesticide is used by the traditional farmers in the Himalayan villages of Uttarakhand.
- Researches show, where normal plain turmeric contains around 3% of Curcumin, Himalayan turmeric of Uttarakhand contains up to 10% or even higher, that varies with terrain and altitude. (Curcumin is a natural compound responsible for most of the healing and medicinal properties of turmeric.)
How to use Himalayan Turmeric (Pahadi Haldi)
Turmeric can be consumed in many ways like Kadha etc., but with warm cow milk (Doodh-Haldi) it is wonderful for entire family health. Maximum 1 small teaspoonful (2-3g), with warm milk.
Narayan Gurung –
Really a different and powerful turmeric. I use with warm milk. It is tastier and makes milk thicker.
